I have always been motivated in the realms of arts and crafts from being a small child making clothes for my dolls and dressing up outfits, to designing and making my own clothes as a teenager and young adult. Then onto leaving school and securing a position with a company called Border Fine Arts in their painting department hand painting their high quality figurines. Upon achieving their highest painting grade, I went on to training, supervising and quality controlling the painters and also on to training the master class painters. I was then promoted into Border Fine Arts parent company Enesco where I became a Retail Development assistant, which involved me travelling round retail outlets in my area which stretched from the borders as far south as Derby and Leicester. Once there I would train and motivate staff on how to display Enesco products effectively. At home up until our animals contracted Foot and Mouth we had two farms, one of which was dairy the other raised young stock, beef and sheep. We now only have the farm upon which we live, on which we run a small livery yard for horses and rent out the rest of the land. All this experience has set me up well to run my own business expanding my people skills no end and giving me a broad understanding of the huge quality demands the public rightly expect both for toys and collectable gifts. |
